Design Parquet renews its Ecovadis certification for 2025: a recognised commitment to sustainability

In 2024, Design Parquet — a company specialised in manufacturing high-quality, bespoke and customisable parquet flooring — obtained Ecovadis certification for the first time. This globally recognised assessment measures companies’ CSR performance. This year, the certification has been renewed for 2025, confirming Design Parquet’s ongoing commitment to responsible development, rooted in ethics, environmental care, and human respect.

Once again, Design Parquet has been awarded a bronze medal, with an improved score available upon request via the Ecovadis platform.

Recognition of CSR performance

The Ecovadis certification assesses companies across four key pillars: environment, labour & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The renewal of this certification — with a higher score — highlights Design Parquet’s ability to uphold and advance best practices across all these areas.

In practical terms, this means that Design Parquet:

• Uses raw materials from sustainably managed and controlled sources (PEFC and FSC®)

• Minimises its environmental impact at every stage of production

• Promotes respectful working conditions and values craftsmanship

• Works with suppliers who share its ethical, social, and environmental values

Wood — a living material at the heart of our commitment

At Design Parquet, working with wood is more than a profession — it’s a passion passed down through generations. Each parquet board reflects true craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep respect for nature. We like to say that parquet is the only truly ecological and long-lasting flooring: when properly cared for and occasionally sanded, it can last for decades.

Our commitment to wood as a living material goes hand in hand with a strong desire to preserve it. That’s why we favour traceable, responsible supply chains that respect natural cycles and biodiversity. We ask our customers to specify if they want FSC or PEFC-certified flooring so we can ensure full traceability.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is now a central focus at Design Parquet. It takes shape through concrete actions: waste reduction, recycling wood offcuts, ongoing staff training, workplace well-being, and support for local initiatives (schools, training programmes, ESAT centres, etc.).
