Use classification in accordance with European standard NF B53-669, used to classify parquet flooring according to its residential, commercial or industrial use, to guarantee its durability.<\/p>\n

Ranking use & Hardness rank of species<\/h2>\n

In France, parquet flooring is classified according to its use, which is based on the correlation between the species and the thickness of the top layer. This classification determines the parquet’s ability to resist the demands of a particular environment, based on the frequency of traffic and potential wear and tear. In High Trafic range parquet<\/a>, the ROC Varnish finish is made to satisfy the demand of high-traffic environments. In addition, a rigorous selection of species and an optimised wear layer thickness guarantee exceptional durability for public or commercial spaces where resistance to impact and scratches is essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Domestic use rank<\/h2>\n

Parquet is classified according to the use classes defined below. The UPEC classification does not apply to parquet insofar as it can be renovated. The classification takes into account 4 criteria: Wear, Punching, Water and Chemistry. Previously, the classification of material reaction to fire was established according to 5 categories : M0 corresponded to the materials with no reaction to fire, noncombustible, as concrete, brick, plaster\u2026 Nowadays, the regulation has changed since the European directive 89\/106\/CEE. The M classification is now the Euroclasse, and distinguishes floor materials from others (wall, ceiling). The Euroclasse A1 corresponds to a noncombustible materials. For wood flooring, the ranking is conventional and without specific treatment in order to improve the fire reaction.
